Sessional Lecturer in Arboriculture and Forestry

Variable Hours | 2 year Fixed Term Contract | Otley Campus | £10.37 - £28.06 per hour

A successful candidate will be required to work with existing members of the Arboriculture and Forestry department in regards to the preparation and delivery of high quality L3 practical training and classroom based theory lessons.

Essential qualifications and skills

The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, well organised and able to work with a good level of communication

A successful candidate must hold industry recognised qualifications and be competent to a high standard in:

Chainsaw Maintenance

Cross cutting

Felling of small trees

Climbing and aerial rescue

Using a chainsaw from a rope and harness

Candidate is required to be knowledgeable on all aspects of Arboriculture and Forestry, including Law and legislation, pest and diseases, tree surveys and planting and aftercare. It would be desirable for this to be demonstrated by the candidate holding a level three qualification or higher in arboriculture and forestry. A teaching qualification or previous experience of working in a teaching/ training environment would be desirable but not essential.
