Easton Campus | Full Time | Permanent | £22,000 - £30,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be an influential part in the delivery and development of Uniformed Public Services department at Easton and Otley College.

A large section of the Uniformed Public Services curriculum has an Outdoor Education focus and as a result we are looking for a specialist in this area.

While a background in Public Services is desirable, it is not essential for this role. However, a background in Outdoor Education and the ability to be able to deliver a variety of Outdoor Education activities and pursuits is essential in both land and water based activities.

The units of delivery include: Unit 8: Adventurous Activities for Level 2’s; Unit 10 and 11: Skills in Land and Water Based Activities for Level 3 Yr1s and Unit 9 and 35: Land Navigation and Multiday Expeditions for our Level 3 Year 2 students.

We are also looking for this individual to take the lead in supporting students to complete the Duke of Edinburgh awards during their time at college so experience in this is essential.

The Uniformed Public Services department is a growing area for the college and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of this journey.

This Public Services Lecturer will need to be able to deliver the expedition modules and therefore a Mountain Leader qualification and expedition experience is essential. The lecturer will also need to have more knowledge and ideally be able to deliver one or more of the following:

  • Archery
  • Climbing
  • Biking
  • Watersports
  • Fieldcraft

Prior delivery of BTEC qualifications is desirable.
