What qualifications does an apprentice need?
As an academic qualification, apprenticeships ideally require maths and English GCSE grades 9 – 4 (A*- C) so when recruiting please always check learners have this minimum criteria.
All apprentices must provide certificates to confirm qualifications and we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer if grades are not achieved or evidence cannot be provided.
Can I recruit someone who doesn’t meet the entry criteria?
Students you wish to recruit who don’t meet our stated entry requirements, those awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, or mature students e.g. who can’t find GCSE results will be offered an appointment to come into college (Easton or Otley campus) and sit an online assessment. The required achievement grade is BKSB Level 1 or above but we will consider an Entry 3 grade if the student shows commitment to continue their maths and English learning. Any student coming out below Entry 3 grade will not be accepted onto an apprenticeship programme. If the entry requirements are not achieved we will discuss and support you in looking at alternative options.
Do you advertise my vacancy?
Yes, we advertise your vacancies via the National Apprenticeship Service, college website and social media. We would also encourage you to utilise all channels available to maximise applications.
You must set up your digital account before we can deliver any training to your organisation.
