17 year old Harry Whayman was chosen to become part of the national England Colleges Football association team, in the autumn of 2016 after two successful trials.
Thanks to this success, the Easton and Otley College football academy student recently travelled to St George’s Park where he took on a team made up of youngsters from the Independent Schools Football Association
Harry scored the second England goal in a game that finished 2-2. The Diss resident, said, “With my goal - the ball was on the halfway line. The opposition defender had it and I pressed high, won the ball back and ran through one on one with the keeper. I saw the keeper leaving his front post clear so I just slotted it in. It was great feeling to score (for your country). Not many people experience it. It all happened so quickly. It was amazing.”
