Laboratory Technician

Easton Campus, 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, 38 weeks (Term time + 2 weeks)

£16,100 pro rata (£8.35 per hour) 


Principal Purpose of the Role

To provide support to academic staff for the delivery of a high quality science curriculum from level 1 to level 4 (HND) learners.


Main Activities of the role

·         To work with teaching staff to plan and prepare student practicals

·         To assist with demonstrations, trials and research projects

·         To assist with student practicals

·         To maintain equipment

·         To ensure that working areas are kept in a tidy and orderly state

·         To keep an up to date inventory of supplies/resources

·         To order equipment and supplies within budgetary guidelines

·         To collect and prepare specimens

·         To maintain safe systems of working
