Ofsted Update for Students

19 July 2017

As a current or new student to Easton & Otley College, we wanted to let you know that we were recently visited by Ofsted for a full inspection. Although there were some positives, we are disappointed that our overall grading was judged as a grade four, ‘inadequate’.

The college had already put together an improvement plan prior to the Ofsted visit and this work is already showing signs of good progress. For example, we are predicting that more students will successfully complete their course this year (16/17) than in the previous three years.

It is worth noting that whilst the overall grade was a four, the report shows we are doing well in many areas. The Inspectors noted that students receive good care and guidance and are very well behaved.

We are pleased that the report recognised that the College has very strong links with employers and delivers a high standard of practical courses. We are committed to ensuring that all of our students have a great experience and gain not only a qualification, but also fantastic employability skills that can be used as you move on to employment or further study.

We are committed to your success and your support as a valued student is an important part of this. We ask you to have 100% attendance on your course, take pride in your studies and your college and to do everything you can to fulfil your potential. We will support you at every stage of your journey with us.
