    This course is for people interested in, or already working within, sport coaching who wish to gain paid or unpaid employment as a strength and conditioning for sport coach and those who want to develop a credible CV for employment in the sport, recreation and allied occupations industry.

    It is a stepping stone to the 1st4Sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (QCF).

    What does the Level 2 certificate qualify me to do?

    On successful completion of the 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (QCF), you should:

    • Understand the fundamentals of coaching sport
    • Understand how to develop particiants through coaching sport
    • Understand how to develop participants' lifestyles through coaching sport
    • Understand the principles of safe and equitable coaching practice
    • Be able to plan a series of strength and conditioning for sport coaching sessions
    • Be able to prepare the strength and conditioning for sport coaching environment
    • Be able to deliver a series of strength and conditioning for sport coaching sessions
    • Be able to monitor and evaluate strength and conditioning for sport coaching sessions.

    What are the requirements to go on the course?

    If you are over 17 years of age, have an understanding of how to coach and understanding principles that apply to health and fitness, then the 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (QCF) is designed for you.

    How is the qualification delivered?

    All learning programmes include the following phases:

    • An induction to the qualification and your programme of learning and assessment
    • A learning programme that meets your needs, focusing on the theory and practice of coaching strength and conditioning for sport
    • A programme of assessment, spread throughout the course, including observations of your coaching by an appropriately qualified assessor

    At the end of the programme, you will be provided with formal feedback on your performance and an action plan for your further development.

    Students aged 19 ( as of 31 August) and above can study any of our part time or short courses as well as our Access to Higher Education and Higher Education programme.     Yes, you can speak to the College Admissions Team on 08000 224556 who can provide general course choice advice and guidance or you can drop in to one of our Course Advice Days.

    Course Advice Days are normally held on Saturday morning's from 9am-12pm. They provide an excellent opportunity to speak to course tutors, find out more about the courses we offer, have a tour of the facilities and speak to Student Services about any non academic questions like transport or bursaries. Dates are advertised on our website. Course Advice Day

    We also have our campus open days, known as a 'Big Day Out' which take place in the summer term. Both campuses and facilities are available for you to explore, speak to tutors and students, watch demonstrations and have a go at activities. If you like what you see you can also make an application on the day. Details on the Big Day Out will be advertised on our website nearer the time

    The College Admissions Team will send out letters to all students aged 19 and over, on relevant courses, providing all the information needed from Easton & Otley College to enable you to make an online application with Student Finance England. These letters will be sent out during the summer term.

    Applications for the college bursary are made online. You should make sure that you read the guidance notes prior to making an application to ensure that you are eligible. Further information can be found on Financial Support

    For students resident in England and aged 18 and under on 31 August, before they are due to start their course in September, then your full time course fees are fully funded.
