This qualification covers the skills you will need to progress to further learning and training, or to enter the world of work within the forestry and arboriculture industries. The management of trees by professional tree surgeons is an unusual mix of technical and practical skills, with a desire to work outdoors. Forestry involves the management, support, protection, and harvesting of wood, together with the management of recreational and leisure areas. Both campuses provide specialist arboriculture machinery and excellent facilities to learn in.
You will learn about working in a forestry or arboriculture related business, health & safety in the land-based industry, tools and equipment, environment and conservation, plant science, tree classification and identification, tree establishment and tree and woodland management.
