Agriculture

World agriculture needs livestock handlers, farm managers, machine operators and agronomists. Our courses will give you the confidence and ability to grow a rewarding career.

Do you want to work on the land? Perhaps you dream of owning your own farm. Whatever your ambitions in the sector, we can help you on your way. You don’t even need to be from a farming family. We offer Agricultural courses to suit all abilities. These range from introductory diplomas to science degrees from the University of East Anglia. We aim to give you the skills and experience you need to be work ready. You will get to learn on our operational commercial farm. The average UK farm has 57 hectares – our farm has over 200 hectares. This includes arable fields, grazing meadows and woodland. This variety ensures you experience a diversity of working conditions – and related challenges.

Along with combinable crops, we raise cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Our students get to understand the theory and practice of farm management, animal husbandry, crop rotation, soil health, water management, and pest control. They also get to exhibit their stock and produce at regional agricultural shows. The world of farming is rapidly changing. Machine automation is transforming the roles and responsibilities of farm workers. That means more opportunities and higher pay for people with technical qualifications.
