Aim: To provide individual support for students considering their options in further education.

Our advisers will advise your students who are interested in attending Easton and Otley College, or who need to explore their options in further education. We can offer pre-booked one to one appointments in your school or informal drop in sessions, allowing students to speak to our advisors on an unscheduled basis.

Session time: 15minutes - 1 hour per student. This can be adapted to suit your needs.

Bespoke school tours

Aim: To provide students a taste of college life by visiting our facilities and gaining a valuable insight into the support available at our college.

Bespoke College Lessons

Aim: To engage with students about the land based industry in a variety of different classroom activities and small practical sessions, these are themed around different areas of the school curriculum. E.g:

  • Science - e.g. taxonomy in the greenhouse with our 1000s of plants labelled in Latin and English
  • We can tailor these lessons to up to 30 students (depending on your requirements)

School Assemblies and Group Activities

Aim: To provide groups of students with information, advice and guidance about their post 16 options within the land based industries and the transition process to college and help them with applications and interviews.

Skills Days

Aim: To provide applying year 11 students with an introduction to their chosen course with the opportunity to meet others that they may be studying with.

Students will take part in fun activities that will give them a taste of what to expect in September. Students will be invited to attend this day after applying. Dates for this event can be found on our website.

Employability Activities Linked to the Land based Sector

Aim: To work with schools to develop essential employability skills, improve confidence and raise aspirations.

This service is available to all students regardless of destination but priority is given to landbased, contruction and sports students. These sessions can be adapted for different year groups:

  • Support with work preparation
  • Support with mock interviews
  • CV skills
  • Job searching skills
  • Interview skills and preparing for work sessions

Our apprenticeship team are able to offer a wide variety of activities designed to prepare your students for the workplace.

Discovery Days

Aim: To allow students to focus in a particular subject to help them to make an informed decision regarding their post 16 options, as well as giving students an understanding of college life and a tour of our fantastic facilities.

  • Lunch (provided)
  • Q & A session

Availability: Monday of October half term and Monday of February half term. We will organise and publisise with your help and at no cost to you.

Taster Days

Aim: To provide students with a real taste of college life by visiting our facilities and taking part in 3 of our lessons.

These days are aimed at (but are not inclusive to) Year 10 students to help enable them to make informed decisions on post 16 options as well as giving students a comprehensive introduction to the college environment.

The day will look like:

  • Introduction
  • 3 x sessions (with a break for lunch in the middle)
  • Lunch (included)
  • Q & A session
