Animal Studies

Our animal care and animal management programmes are for you if you are interested in working with animals.  You may be just starting out, taking a break from a job to develop your skills with valuable training or managing and promoting your career and experience to the next level. 

Whatever your interest our animal care and management courses, at a range of levels, focus upon the major principles and practices of animal care and welfare, including topics such as zoo animal health, animal science, wildlife and rehabilitation, breed development, behaviour and welfare and veterinary nursing and also pet allied services such as dog grooming and pet shop management.

Our superb facilities onsite at both our Easton and Otley campus’ offer hands-on experience with a wide range of animals including small domestic and exotic mammals, reptiles and amphibians. 

Our courses could lead into a variety of professions within the animal industry at different levels – from dog groomer to pet store manager, veterinary nurse to zoo keeper. If you gain a full Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma or Technical Baccalaureate you could progress with Easton and Otley College to Higher Education courses such as Animal Science and Welfare, Zoology, Veterinary Nursing and Wildlife Management and Conservation or other universities offering a variety of animal related courses.
